JVC XS-SR3 iPod and iPhone Docking Station

This new JVC iPod speaker system features a unique wraparound design, Dolby Virtual Surround, and a dock that can also hold your iPod horizontally so you can watch movies and music while docked.

The new JVC XS-SR3 surround dock is a sleek, glossy black speaker tube with a curved design that allows the iPod to nestle between the speakers. The iPod holder rotates for viewing video in widescreen mode and comes with four clips to hold selected iPod models.

The speakers' powerful neodymium magnets ensure clean, crisp sound, while Dolby Virtual Surround creates the illusion of a wider sound field when viewing video content.

Power output is five watts and the system features two audio inputs, one analog and one digital optical.

The XS-SR3 docking station can also be used as computer speaker system.

The JVC XS-SR3 iPod docking station costs around $150.

Sony CDX-H910UI - CDX-M60UI Marine Head Units

The Marine head units CDX-H910UI and CDX-M60UI support new features including MemoryBackup and ZAPPIN technology.

The new marine receivers’ included 4.9-foot cable has a USB connector, which allows it to connect to iPod and other USB media players. The units support Quick-BrowZer feature that allows users to control and select music via the “rotate and push” button.

They also have a Passenger Control feature, so passengers can control the connected device itself while it’s being charged. For owners who store their boats during the off-season, Sony’s MemoryBackup function saves the settings of radio stations and favorite tunes when the main boat power is shut down.

They have also the DM+ technology for sound quality enhancement.

Both Sony CDX-H910UI and CDX-M60UI offer 52-wattx4 output power, a white LCD display, support for Satellite and HD Radio.

Sony’s DX-H910UI is also IPx5-compliant, splash-proof, sun and salt-resistant. On the other hand the Sony CDX-M60UI features the Jump Mode for searching even larger music libraries. It has a Xplod design with red and blue key illumination.

Sony CDX-H910UI and Sony CDX-M60UI will be available in January next year for $340 and $200 respectively.

The CDX-GT920U car stereo features a motorized fold-out detachable faceplate and switchable blue, green and red key illumination on a large full-motion florescent display.

The multi-line display offers smooth, clean, solid movement of graphics and a higher resolution at 30 x 39 dpi and eight degrees of contrast for improved readability. A rear USB flash drive input with Quick BrowZer allows for quick and simple playlist navigation employing a user-friendly menu system.

In addition, the CDX-GT920U provides iPod player, HD Radio and satellite radio compatibility.

Sony Explod CDX-GT620U
The CDX-GT620U head unit features a flip-down detachable faceplate with blue illumination on a black LED display. The front USB input supports Quick BrowZer functionality.

Both of the new car stereos feature an auxiliary input on the faceplate to connect a portable music player using a standard 1/8-inch mini jack cord (sold separately) and offer MP3, non-DRM AAC and non-DRM WMA playback via CD and USB. A supplied wireless card remote makes it easy to control the music from the front or back seat.

The Pioneer MEP-7000 and SEP-C1 Software Entertainment Controller are a response to the trend of laptops being utilised by professional DJs.

Key new features to this product type are the 4.3-inch colour LCD screen that gives clear accurate information, allowing intuitive and easy menu navigation.

The MEP-7000 transforms into a Karaoke playback device when a CD-G disc is inserted, displaying the playback video on the LCD screen, but can also be fed to external monitors using the composite video output terminal.

The 5.1 channel home-theater-in-a-box system features five tiny speakers each about the size of a golf ball. The system, matched with a compact, single disc DVD/CD player/receiver, includes a unique subwoofer that helps the tiny speakers create sounds typically reserved for full size speakers.

Although the system features small speakers Sony claims that it packs all the power of conventional home theater-in-a-box systems with 450 watts of total system power. The system is specially tuned to deliver a natural sound field that takes the focus off the subwoofer while supplementing mid range and lower frequencies.

The DAV-IS10 micro home theater system also features Sony’s new BRAVIA Theatre Sync technology, which utilizes the HDMI interface to communicate with select Sony BRAVIA televisions. With the touch of a button, users can automatically turn on and switch inputs, synchronizing connected devices making operation easier.

The system’s compact DVD/CD player can upscale DVDs to 720p or 1080i output when connected via HDMI to a compatible high-definition television. The DVD/CD unit features touch sensitive controls that illuminate and disappear on touch for navigating DVDs and CDs without using the included universal remote control.

The DAV-IS10 micro home theater system is also equipped with Sony’s Digital Media Port input.
