Apple iPhone to Deliver Up to Eight Hours of Talk Time

Apple claims that iPhone will deliver significantly longer battery life when it ships on June 29 than was originally estimated when iPhone was unveiled in January.

iPhone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback.

In addition, iPhone will feature up to 250 hours (over 10 days) of standby time. Apple also claims that the entire top surface of iPhone, including its large 3.5-inch display, has been upgraded from plastic to optical-quality glass to achieve a superior level of scratch resistance and optical clarity.

iPhone introduces an entirely new user interface based on a revolutionary multi-touch display and pioneering new software that allows users to control iPhone with just a tap, flick or pinch of their fingers.

Porsche Design launches P’9521 mobile phone

The Porsche Design Group and Sagem Communication have launched the first Porsche Design Mobile Phone, the P’9521, at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen.

The Porsche P’9521 mobile phone combines sophisticated, purist design with high-quality natural materials such as aluminum and mineral glass.

The casing is milled out of a solid aluminum block – a unique production method for mobile phones. The typography, styling and colors of the menu emphasize the mobile phone’s very functional character. A double hinge made from aluminum enables the screen to be rotated
through 180° – thus allowing the phone to be used as a digital camera.

The Porsche P’9521 features a fingerprint reader, which clearly identifies the user and thus
ensures secure access to personal data. In addition, individual fingerprints can be assigned to particular numbers or phone functions, making operation particularly easy.

The standard PIN code can also be replaced by a fingerprint. The know-how for this technology was delivered by Sagem, which has expertise in the field of biometrics.

Motorola has launched the long awaited next-generation RAZR phone, RAZR2.

Motorola RAZR2 will become available in July 2007 in several markets, the next-generation device packs cutting-edge features such as CrystalTalk technology, up to 2GB of on-board memory, Web browsing, real-time point-to-point video and ultra-fast menu navigation, all packed into a slimmer, stronger, sleeker design.

Motorola made the RAZR2 profile even sharper, shaving two millimeters from the original RAZR. Greatly enhanced dual screens give you the largest-in-its class 2.0" external screen for crisp picture caller ID and readable texts and a 2.2" internal screen with twice the resolution of the original RAZR. To further beautify this sought-after icon, Motorola incorporated a seamless casing, a soft touch back and a stunning vacuum metal front finish. The huge exterior lens is made with chemically hardened glass to be more scratch resistant.
