The Final Destination 4 (2009)

There isn't much to say about this movie. It's pretty much identical to the first 3 instalments of Final Destination but with different effects. If you force me to pick one out of 3 I would definitely go for the Final Destination 3 because of its effects - especially the lorry-biker-logs scene.

The Final Destination is also pretty gruesome with too many bloody and gruesome scenes which it wasn't the case in first 3.

The Final Destination: A strange premonition causes four friends to abandon their day at the speedway, just before a crushing pileup hurtles cars into the bleachers with deadly consequences. They have cheated death but for how long?

The Final Destination (2009) is directed by David R. Ellis who directed Final Destination 2, Cellular and Snakes on a plane amongst others.

I watched the 3-D version and wasn't too impressed. The ending scene is probably the best scene in the whole movie but then again what do I know about movies - You go out and watch it and see what you think.

This movie also has mixed reviews around the net and the Final Destination in 3-D scores pretty low on IMDB.

The Hangover (2009) Movie Review

The Hangover movie review, where do I start? The Hangover movie is about 4 guys that decide to hit Las Vegas before Doug (Justin Bartha) gets married.

The guys stay at Cesar’s Palace hotel and end up going to the roof of the hotel to toast the night ahead. As it turns out Doug's future brother-in-law Alan (Zach Galifianakis) decided to make their night out more interesting buy buying some ecstasy tablets and spiking their drinks without them knowing but instead of ecstasy he was given the rape drug hence why they couldn’t remember a thing when they woke up the next morning with their apartment demolished, found a baby and a tiger in their apartment, Stu has a missing tooth and Phil is wearing a hospital bracelet and they realise that Doug is missing.

This is where their search for Doug starts with guys heading to the hospital to see why Phil is wearing their bracelet.

Without revealing too much their search for Doug puts them in a lot of funny situations as they try to discover what really happened the night before. They also find Mike Tyson in their apartment who has found keys to their room in the cage of his tiger :).

There is also a naked Chinese mafia guy in the boot of their car, the very same guy ends up demanding $80.000 that was stolen from him the night before in exchange for their friend Doug. Of course if that was the case the movie wouldn’t be that funny so you will have to watch it to discover what really happened. I must say that I was a bit shocked when I saw Mike Tyson in there and somewhat surprised with his appearance. He is definitely not Mike Tyson I remember – he definitely needs to lose some weight.

Can’t write much more without revealing the whole story line. You will just have to trust me and go out and watch The Hangover movie and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Cast: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham, Sasha Barrese, Jeffrey Tambor, Ken Jeong, Rachael Harris, Mike Tyson, Mike Epps etc.

The Last Island (1990) Movie Review

Thought I would give The Last Island a go as you generally find little gems of a movie within titles/actors/age of the movie that you generally would just flick past.

It has a great cast Sean (Paul Freeman - a billionaire gay) who is my favourite character. Joanna (Shelagh McLeod) playing a strong headed woman to inspire to. Mrs Godame (Patricia Hayes – great actress) playing a wise retired woman (fab character too). Nick (Kenneth Colley – great actor!) God loving preacher. Pierre (Marc Berman) general nice French chap and Jack (Ian Tracey) young chap wants a laugh and lots of girls! And that’s it :)

These 7 characters end up in a plane crash on a lonely uninhabited island without any means of communication. They survive for quite a while before people change and turn on each other.

They think (didn’t quite know why!) that the whole planet had been hit by who knows what and no one had survived. And it was up to Joanna to repopulate!!

I wont put any spoilers in here but safe to say it’s a great movie and has that real feel of an oldie but a goodie.

Now a days movies are full of special effects and sometimes, not so great acting.

The cast was perfect and they played their characters very well!! I was going to put this in the title but its quite a large spoiler I suppose :)

So Ill put it here - don’t read any further!! Its a great line from one of my fav movies that kinda suits this movie down to the ground :) 'Man Kills Man - Woman Inherits the earth' :) teehee :) (Jurassic Park - probably am paraphrasing there though!

Seven Pounds (2008) Movie Review

I can’t even begin to write how I felt after watching this movie. The Director of this movie (Gabriele Muccino) and writer (Grant Nieporte) made me see mankind and the type of kindness that people can actually give in a new light. Do things like this actually happen? Absolutely beautiful storyline and one I didn’t expect (until the end of course).

Will Smith NEVER disappoints!! Will Smith plays a depressed IRS agent and his abilities outshine so many actors and the emotion he shows seems so genuine and powerful. Perfect for this role. Love you Will Smith :) :)

Seven Pounds is full of fantastic actors such as Woody Harrelson who plays Ezra Turner, a blind meat representative!   Elpida Carillo, Latin woman abused by her husband.   Rosario Dawson played Emily Posa, great actress to play against Will Smith. Barry Pepper (who stared in Knockaround Guys with Vin Diesel (fab film), The Green Mile, Saving Private Ryan, Enemy of the State to name a few) plays a character close to Ben Thomas (Smith). Judyann Elder played Holly Apelgren she was also in ER, Desperate Housewives (thought she was familiar!), Cold Case and Becker!

I didn’t expect this ending in a million years!! I won’t give away any spoilers as it would completely ruin the experience for you. So this review will have no highlights in it. Best watched with fresh eyes/mind!!!! Definitely putting this movie on my Christmas DVD wish list :) as it’s a keeper!! A high ranking 5 out of 5!!!   (She says wiping the tears away :) ).     Think I'm going to watch it once/twice more before returning it :)

Find Me Guilty - Movie Review

Vin Diesel is completely different from the other muscle brandishing characters he has played before (or after!). Written and Directed by Sidney Lumet and T.J. Manchini, Find Me Guilty is based on the true story of Jack DiNorscio who is a mobster arrested after a drugs bust. Sentenced to thirty years and realising that the lawyer assigned to him probably got him that thirty years (for being utterly useless!) decides the best person to represent DiNorscio…. Is DiNorscio! The prosecutor Sean Kierney (Linus Roache) offers DiNorscio a deal to rat on his mafia family/friends in exchange for freedom but obviously tells him where to go!

This movie is fantastic! Forget Scarface, Godfather and all of those kind of hard to watch beat em up gangster/mafia movies.

Find Me Guilty is funny, palatable and clever. Vin Diesel plays the part fantastically – a mobster who is loved and much respected by his family and in the end the apposing family Nick Calabrese (Alex Rocco – great actor!).

The wardens in prison are like his neighbours next door, even showing DiNorscio respect – there is a scene at the beginning where DiNorscio is being taken to court and DiNorscio (rides in the back of the car like they are all off to watch a baseball game) asks the driver to please open the window, driver says no, DiNorscio leans over onto one butt cheek (gorgeous as it maybe) and lets one rip. The warden groans laughingly and opens the window. Classic and not common for a Vin Diesel character - Brilliant!

The only downside to this movie is that I can’t stand to watch Vin Diesel smoke!! Strange issue I know but the movie didn’t need him to be a faggy (even if he is one in real life – unfortunately!).

Road Of No Return (2009) Movie Review

Where do I start with Road of No Return? To be honest I am very disappointed with this movie. The acting is bad, the story line could be so much better and I can't believe that I had the patience to watch Road of No Return from start to finish.

I guess I was expecting to see a good movie after seeing that Michael Madsen and David Carradine were the "main" actors in Road of No Return.
I guess this worldwide recession is affecting them too when they accept roles in C class movies :)

Road of No Return follows the final nine days in the lives of 4 amateur hit men who are brought together in a covert operation to kill some drug traffickers.

When the hit men rescue a little orphaned girl from the hands of drug traffickers, a close bond blossoms between them and the little girl, jeopardizing the operation's secrecy.

Not to compromise the mission, the forces behind this covert operation order the men killed and as such the hunters become the hunted and the orphaned girl becomes the catalyst that will forever change their lives in the most unexpected ways.

All in all Road Of No Return is not worth watching.

Echelon Conspiracy (2009) Movie review

A computer engineer Max Peterson (Shane West) who is on an assignment in Thailand, receives a package that contains yet unreleased cell phone from an unknown person.

He starts getting text messages from an unknown source. First message tells him to stay in Bangkok for an extra night and book another flight. The plane he was supposed to fly out in crashes and everyone on board dies.

Second text message tells him to buy stock shares for a particular company which he ignores and then watching the news 3 days later he sees that those company shares prices went up 3 times. This is when Max realizes the importance of those messages.

After that the next message tells him to fly out to Prague (Czech Republic) where he wins 3 million Euros in a casino thanks to those messages.

Here the movie action begins and the story unfolds when FBI agent Grant (Ving Rhames) and casino security manager Reed (Edward Burns) get involved.

Whilst trying to discover who the sender of those text messages is they discover that all the messages come from a supercomputer designed by NSA (National Security Agency) called Echelon, which apparently can control the whole world, email, messages, security cameras etc.

NSA director Burke (Martin Sheen) is heading the search for a source of those messages and as it turns out their super computer is so sophisticated and intelligent that it has decided to play it's own game and developed its own mind about what is good and what is bad.

Not to reveal any more about this movie all I can say is that Echelon Conspiracy is one of those movies where they make a cool movie trailer with all the action packed into a 30 seconds clip and you think WOW :) what a cool movie. Then you go out and see it in the cinema and you feel cheated.

Echelon Conspiracy actors: Martin Sheen's acting is rubbish in this movie.
Ving Rhames hmmm that guy never changes, can he act at all? Shane West's acting was quite good considering the movie story line.

Never Surrender (2009) Movie Review

He is recruited into that world by a stunning blonde (Silvia Koys). She works for a ruthless gang master (Patrick Kilpatrick) who controls the fights and the girls who are forced to spend the night with a fight winner.

Never Surrender the movie features quite a few sexual scenes with stunning girls and there is a lot of blood and violence.

If you are an UFC (cage fighting) fan then you will recognise some of the faces in this movie. BJ "The Prodigy" Penn, Anderson "The Spider" Silva, Georges "Rush" St. Pierre, Heath "Texas Crazy Horse" Herring, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson are some of the well know MMA fighters who star in this movie.

At present Anderson Silva is a UFC middleweight champion and I think he will stay there for a while because he is good. I must admit that I am a big fan of UFC and I was really excited prior to watching Never Surrender the movie knowing that UFC fighters star in this movie.

Coming back to the movie though, I must say that Patrick Kilpatrick's acting was one of the best so far in his career, with a great strong Russian accent and a really pumped-up body he looked great, which for his age can't be easy to achieve.

Never Surrender is written, produced and directed by Argentinean-born kickboxing champion Hector Echavarria

So if you like fighting, UFC and MMA then Never Surrender the movie is well worth watching.

Kicking The Dog (2009) Movie Review

There isn't much to say about this movie, I couldn't even watch it to the end as it was that bad.

The best way to describe this movie is if you think of American Pie with very low budget and really rubbish actors.

Kicking The Dog Official Movie Plot Line:
A group of friends spend one last great summer together, realizing they will soon go their separate ways in life.

Really exciting plot line!!! If you have 93 spare minutes and absolutely nothing better to do than to watch Kicking The Dog the movie then all I would say to you is: you need to get out more.

Fast and Furious (2009) Movie Review

The opening scene of the Fast and Furious (2009) movie is jaw droppingly fan-flipping-tastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t think I blinked throughout the whole few minutes where they try to steal 5 tanker trailers being pulled through the Dom Rep by a crazy fool with an iguana sitting next to him. One reason I didn’t blink is due to Vin Diesel being far too gorgeous for his own good :) but the other reason is that the action was so good!!

The rest of the movie was great too - although you get more car footage in the first Fast & Furious. I'm not going to write any spoilers in this review just in case you haven’t seen it but safe to say it’s a great movie - full of v cool cars, speed, adrenaline, Vin, twists, Vin, great action sequences and Vin. Good acting all round.

Here is a synopsis of Fast and Furious.

Heading back to the streets where it all began, two men rejoin two women to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert.

When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Connor.
